IU-centric content, curated experiences, discounts, and a number of core services help members stay connected to IU and one another. Alumni and active members are eligible to receive core services.
Core service accounts
You can create all your accounts through Alumni and Member services.
Access alumni and member service accounts through My IU Alumni Resources.
Alumni email accounts
You can create your alumni email account through Alumni and Member services. You can then access your account at mail.alumni.iu.edu or through My IU Alumni Resources.
Alumni email addresses look a little different than student addresses. The domain is different: email@example.com instead of firstname.lastname@example.org. When you create your account, you may request the same username you had as a student. If you currently have an active IU email address, you can forward your IU email to your new alumni email account.
Alumni email is limited to 5GB storage.
Alumni email is hosted by Google Workspace for education use, which is restricted in some countries including China. To maintain your account, you are required to log in via the URL mail.google.com at least once each year. Find out if Google Workspace is restricted in your country.
Virtual Alumni Network accounts
Create a Virtual Alumni Network account through Alumni and Member services. Access your account at community.alumni.iu.edu or through My IU Alumni Resources.
Read the fine print
Alumni and Member IT Services are offered to IU alumni and IUAA Life Members, and they act as a means of engagement. Read more about how to use (and not use) services in the Alumni and Member IT Services policy.
