Australia and New Zealand

Tour the iconic Sydney Opera House

Roam the “lands down under” during this 22-day expedition through the lush terrains of Australia and New Zealand.

Your adventure begins in Cairns, Queensland, with a ride on the historic and scenic railway to Kuranda, before descending into “the village in the rainforest” via gondola.

Return to Cairns for a daylong excursion at the colossal Great Barrier Reef—a swimmer’s oasis, teeming with colorful wildlife.

In Alice Springs, take an Aboriginal “Dreamtime” tour to learn about the Warlpiri tribespeople’s ancient culture. Then, head to the Anzac Hill Memorial, which honors the soldiers who served in World War I.

End the day with a traditional Outback BBQ dinner and a sunset visit to Ayers Rock—a fabled sandstone monolith just outside of Alice Springs in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.

Next stop Sydney, where you’ll embark on a catamaran cruise around Sydney Harbour, mingle with koalas at Featherdale Wildlife Park, and tour the iconic Opera House. Be sure to experience the white sands and crashing waves of sun-drenched Bondi Beach in your free time.

The second half of your trip takes you to the enchanting shores of New Zealand.

Discover Christchurch, the “Garden City,” before spending two nights in majestic Mount Cook National Park. Here, you’ll be able to kayak around glaciers, walk amidst the ice, and spend evenings stargazing.

On a daylong Milford Sound fjord excursion, cruise the breathtaking glacier-carved inlets that are home to mirror-like waters and gushing waterfalls.

Once in Queenstown, New Zealand’s “adventure capital,” take another scenic cruise to a working ranch, stopping by the Kiwi Birdlife Park.

In Rotorua—a geothermal wonderland known for its colorful hot springs and spouting geysers—experience Maori culture at a traditional hangi dinner.

Conclude your trip with sightseeing in Auckland. Must-sees include the impressive War Memorial Museum, Mount Eden, and the Sky Tower.
