Relics and Retreats

Take in the splendor of Kotor from the steps of a 16th-century church

Wind through the western Mediterranean on this 12-night, culturally infused voyage that begins in Barcelona and concludes in Rome.

Before boarding the luxurious Riviera, admire Sagrada Família and Casa Batlló—two of Antoni Gaudí’s most popular creations.

Spend a day at sea before disembarking at Valletta, where you’ll have the chance to gaze at the enchanting interior of St. John’s Co-Cathedral and wander through the Upper Barrakka Gardens.

Next, travel to Argostoli and discover the old town square and Koutavos Lagoon.

In Kotor, take in the Venetian architecture, including the 12th-century St. Tryphon Cathedral.

Dubrovnik, the next stop, is an ancient walled city on the Dalmatian Coast. For a panoramic view of this coastal locale, head up Mount Srd in a cable car, or opt for a tour of Game of Thrones filming locations.

Up next is two full days in Venice. Highlights of this “floating city” include St. Mark’s Basilica and the Grand Canal. Pro tip: The best way to soak up the sights and sounds of Venice is by gondola.

On Corfu—a picturesque island in the Ionian Sea off Greece’s northwest coast—take a dip in the “Love Canal.” Legend has it that couples who swim between the sea walls stay together forever.

Next, pay a visit to the Piazza del Duomo in Messina, which features the world’s largest astronomical clock and the Messina Cathedral.

Your odyssey concludes in Rome, but not before you have the chance to explore the legendary ruins of Pompeii, just outside Sorrento.
