Thank you to all who voted in the 2024 trustee election. You’ve played a vital part in shaping the IU of tomorrow.
The IU Board of Trustees is Indiana University’s governing board, its legal owner, and final authority. The board is composed of nine members. IU graduates elect three of the trustees, one each year for a three-year term. The remaining six trustees, including the student board member, are appointed by Indiana’s governor.
In accordance with state law, the annual trustee election is conducted by the dean of University Libraries on the Bloomington campus, with assistance from the IU Alumni Association. Any IU degree holder is eligible to run for a spot on the IU Board of Trustees. Learn more about candidate eligibility.
