BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—Three Indiana University alumni will receive IU’s Distinguished Alumni Service Award on Oct.17, during Homecoming weekend on the Bloomington campus. The award is the highest honor bestowed on IU alumni by the university.
IU Indianapolis Honors Alumni with Hine Award
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.— Indiana University Indianapolis will honor three alumni with the Maynard K. Hine Award on Thursday, November 14, 2024 in Indianapolis. The 2024 recipients are Dr. Jeffrey Dean, Danita Forgey, and Dr. Yousuf Mahomed.

Alumna Jill Maurer Burnett Elected to IU Board of Trustees
Indiana University graduates have elected Jill Maurer Burnett, BS’97, to the IU Board of Trustees in the election that closed June 30. She received 3,830 out of 20,101 total votes and began her three-year term on July 1.

INDIANAPOLIS — Three IUPUI alumni will be presented with the Maynard K. Hine Award at a ceremony in Indianapolis on Thursday, Sept. 21. The award recognizes alumni and volunteer leaders for their contributions in support of the campus and its alumni programs. The 2023 recipients are MaryEllen K. Bishop, David Hòa Khoa Nguyễn, and Chad S. Priest.

IU LGBTQ+ Alumni Association to host 11th annual celebration weekend
The Indiana University Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, and Others Alumni Association (LGBTQ+AA) will host its 11th annual celebration weekend Feb. 1–2 to coincide with the Bloomington PRIDE Film Festival. This year’s events will include an awards reception on Feb. 1 in the Tudor Room at the Indiana Memorial Union and an alumni reception/silent auction on Feb. 2 at the FAR Center for Contemporary Arts, 595 W. Fourth St. Everyone is also welcome to attend the LGBTQ+AA annual board meeting on Feb. 2 from 10 a.m.–noon at the DeVault Alumni Center, 1000 E. 17th St. During the awards reception, the LGBTQ+AA will honor Jeff Richardson with the 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award.
