B.S., Finance, 1980, Kelley School of Business, Indiana University Bloomington
I grew up in Southern Indiana and attended Jennings County High School in North Vernon, Indiana. After graduation I attended Indiana University Bloomington where I completed my degree in Finance from The Kelley School of Business. I maximized my student years and my experience at Indiana University by pledging the social fraternity Alpha Tau Omega and the business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi. While a student at Bloomington, my first brush with stardom was when I was chosen to be a paid student extra in the on-campus filming of the Academy Award winning movie “Breaking Away.”
In 2005 I founded Premier Wealth Advisors where I serve as the Founding Partner, Executive Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer. Premier Wealth Advisors is a privately held Indianapolis -based wealth management firm. My previous positions included serving as a financial and investment executive at Merrill Lynch, STAR Wealth Management, and other prestigious financial institutions. My focus is on delivering complex financial solutions to a diverse clientele including individuals, institutions and charities. I have been honored to receive numerous national accolades and recognition for my accomplishments in providing wealth advisory services.
I have dedicated my life to supporting education in all forms. I began supporting and donating to Indiana University immediately following graduation. Over the years, I have served on committees, raised funds, and directly supported Sycamore School, Washington Township MSD, and Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School all located in Indianapolis. I am very proud to have funded scholarships for high school students participating in the Health & Science Innovations at Indiana University Indianapolis, Project SEED at the Indiana University School of Science, and the Indianapolis Project STEM at Indiana University at Indianapolis and Bloomington. These programs provide internships, focused on college-level research projects, in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and medicine for students from low-income households. Another philanthropic endeavor of mine was to provide instrumental early-stage funding to a student-based research project at Indiana University- Indianapolis focused on researching and developing artificial retina. The retina research conducted at Indiana University-Indianapolis later received a National Institute of Health grant and a high-profile award from the Falk Medical Research Trust - which supports new medical research to find cures for diseases for which there is currently no cure.
My work in the area of education also includes supporting several school board candidates in the Indianapolis area who share my intense commitment to improving education and supporting the school districts. My personal experience includes teaching business law and similar classes on the Indiana University Indianapolis campus as an adjunct professor. I gleaned valuable perspective on how academia functions from inside the classroom.
I am a lifetime member of the Indiana University Alumni Association and financial supporter of the Indiana University system. My unique experience propels me to seek a position on the Board of Trustees to ensure transparency, so Indiana University meets the needs of the alumni, students, professors, instructors, employees and most importantly, taxpayers.
My pledge is to serve a single three-year term as a member of the Board of Trustees. I believe it is in the best interest of Indiana University to always engage new leaders with fresh ideas and perspective which is accomplished by refreshing the talent serving in the Trustee positions. I pledge not to accept any compensation, stipends or reimbursements of any kind from Indiana University for my service as a Trustee. I am seeking this position not for personal gain but because of my love of Indiana University and I want to repay the University for not only preparing me for a career but for life in general.
Given my commitment to Indiana University and my background and experience, I believe I will bring a fresh and unique perspective to the Board of Trustees and Indiana University. My core objective is to ensure Indiana’s flagship university holds true to its mission to “provide broad access to undergraduate and graduate education for students throughout Indiana, and the United States….”
I appreciate your support and hope you honor me with your vote!
