Make a gift

Make a lasting impact

The Society of Alumni was founded in 1854 after a fire nearly destroyed the university. The group rallied financial relief and volunteer support—and continues to do so today. The Society of Alumni was renamed the Indiana University Alumni Association in 1913.

Today, the IUAA is dedicated to furthering the future of our alma mater and keeping nearly 775,000 IU alumni connected for life. Unfortunately, we can’t operate on IU pride alone—that’s where you come in.

Your gift allows us to offer additional scholarships to current and future IU students, sponsor events, and reach a greater number of alumni.

No need to renew

The IUAA no longer offers the IU Loyal annual member program. We encourage you to make a gift to the IU fund(s) of your choice. Those who give $100 or more to any IU fund(s) within a calendar year will retain access to IUAA courtesies and communications.

Because of the generosity of IU alumni, I was able to seek out opportunities that would have otherwise been inaccessible to me. Being a scholarship recipient has removed barriers and opened doors, allowing me to grow into the successful academic and young professional I am today.

–Hannah Fry, IUAA scholarship recipient, Class of 2022

Mini University Fund

Mini U gives adults of all ages, IU alum or not, the opportunity to return to the classroom. This weeklong experience takes place on the IU Bloomington campus and is led by the university’s world-class faculty and staff. The Mini University Fund was established to support additional programming for Mini U, such as tours and special events.

IU Travels Fund

The IU Travels program offers bucket-list trips all over the world to IU alumni and friends. These getaways are tailor-made to provide educationally enriching, culturally immersive experiences. The IU Travels fund was established to make each trip “more IU,” either through IU faculty hosts, IU-themed gatherings, or special outings with alumni living overseas.

Leadership and Innovation Endowment

This fund supports collaborative and creative programs for current and future alumni as well as IUAA staff. It was established by past chairs of the IUAA Board of Managers to support unexpected needs and opportunities, such as diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) initiatives.

Support IU Alumni Association operations

Jerry Tardy, BS’62, was president and CEO of the IU Alumni Association from 1987 until his untimely death in 2001. The Jerry F. Tardy Operating Endowment was established in 2003 in memory of his legacy, and provides a stable source of operating revenue for the IUAA.

Alumni and friends have the opportunity to remember Jerry’s legacy and give to a fund that provides ongoing support to the IUAA programs he championed throughout his career. We are furthering our mission to connect alumni back to one another and IU through gifts made to the Jerry F. Tardy Operating Endowment.

—Tricia Riveire Stumpf, MS'07, CEO of the IUAA

You deserve recognition

The IUAA’s societies recognize those who have supported IU and its alumni through financial giving.

Matthew Campbell Society

Named in honor of the first president of the Society of Alumni (what is now the IU Alumni Association), the Matthew Campbell Society recognizes those who have made a planned bequest—a gift that is made as a part of a will or trust.

1854 Society

Named in honor of the year the Society of Alumni (now the IU Alumni Association) was founded, the 1854 Society recognizes those who have made an accumulative gift of $1,854 or more. 1854 members receive exclusive invitations to IUAA events and are recognized on a plaque hung in the DeVault Alumni Center.

Support IU in other ways

Consider supporting our alma mater through volunteering, gifts of securities, planned and estate gifts, employer gift matching, and IU payroll deduction.
